Not only Harry Potter, Rowling is also a prolific author including Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2001), Quidditch Through the Ages (2002) and The Tales of Beedle the Bard (2008).

After the criticism emerged, Rowling answered it with a long essay on her personal web.

The Life Story of J.K. Rowling

Rowling grew up in England, in Gloucestershire to be precise. His father was an aircraft engineer at a Rolls Royce factory, while his mother was a science technician in the Chemistry department, where Rowling attended school.

From a young age, Rowling was familiar with books. “I live for books [...] I'm a nerd [...],'' he was quoted as saying on his personal website.

He has aspired to be a writer since childhood. His first book, written when he was 6 years old, was about rabbits. At the age of eleven, he wrote the first novel about the seven cursed diamonds.

His dream of becoming a writer continued until he continued his education at the University of Exeter, where he read many French and Classical books and was once fined £50 for being late in returning to the library.

His knowledge of the Classics greatly influenced the way he cast spells in the Harry Potter book series, some of which were based on Latin.

After completing her education, Rowling moved to London and tried various jobs, including research at Amnesty International. He began crafting Harry Potter ideas in 1990 while sitting on a delayed train from Manchester to London.

Five years later, he began charting the seven books of the series.
Most of it he wrote by hand. Taking his notes with him, he moved to Portugal to teach English. There she married Jorge Arantes and had a daughter named Jessica.

The marriage did not last long and Rowling decided to return to England. He lives in Edinburgh with Jessica and a briefcase containing the first three chapters of Harry Potter.

There he became a teacher and continued to write in his spare time.
In 1998, his book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was published in the United States by Scholastic. Six further titles followed in the Harry Potter series, each achieving record-breaking success. In 2001 the first book was adapted for the big screen by Warner Bros.
